Itinerary
Day 01: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Bamboo Lodge
- [Early Morning] – Journey to Paucartambo & Ninamarca: We leave Cusco early in our comfortable bus, traveling toward the folkloric village of Paucartambo. Along the way, uncover ancient history by exploring the pre-Inca funerary towers of Ninamarca.
- [Mid-Day] – The Mystical Cloud Forest: Descend into a vibrant cloud forest filled with beautiful orchids and lush plants. Feel the thrill of spotting Peru’s national bird, the brilliant Cock of the Rock, playful monkeys, and with a little luck, the rare spectacled bear.
- [Afternoon] – Arrival at Pilcopata: Reach the warm jungle town of Pilcopata and settle into the Bamboo Lodge. Here, you can refresh in your private bathrooms and showers before resting to the enchanting sounds of the forest.

Day 02: Pilcopata – Atalaya Port – Aguas Calientes
- [Morning] – Bus to Atalaya & River Navigation: After a delicious breakfast, our bus takes you to the port of Atalaya. Here, embark on a scenic 4-hour motorized boat ride along the Alto Madre de Dios river, taking in the incredible landscapes and warm rainforest climate.
- [Mid-Day] – Natural Hot Springs: Arrive at the spectacular Aguas Calientes. Soothe your senses as you bathe in the natural hot springs and swim in the refreshing river waters surrounded by pure nature.
- [Afternoon] – Deep Jungle Exploration: Step onto the ancestral trails for a 2-hour guided walk to spot fascinating alligators (Caiman Crocodylus) and discover powerful medicinal plants before returning to enjoy the hot springs once more.

Day 03: Aguas Calientes – Soga de Oro Lodge
- [Early Morning] – River Bank Parrot Sightings: Start your day early aboard our boat to witness a colorful morning ritual: vibrant parrots gathering to eat nutrient-rich clay on the riverbank.
- [Mid-Day] – Navigation & Capybara Spotting: Continue navigating the pristine waters toward the Soga de Oro Lodge. Keep your camera ready to photograph the capybara, the largest rodent in the world, relaxing by the river under beautiful sunset skies.
- [Nightfall] – Nocturnal Safari Walk: After a day of varied jungle activities and a breathtaking sunset, experience the thrill of a night walk. Explore the dark trails to observe fascinating frogs, toads, insects, bats, and snakes in their nocturnal habitat.

Day 04: Soga de Oro Lodge – Lake Machuhuasi
- [Very Early Morning] – Boat to Lake Machuhuasi: Wake up with the jungle and take a short, refreshing 25-minute boat ride to the serene waters of Lake Machuwasi.
- [Morning] – Native Rafting Adventure: Glide peacefully across the lake on traditional balsa rafts for 2 hours. This silent approach allows you to closely observe giant capybaras and the fascinating hoatzin, a strange, prehistoric-looking bird.
- [Afternoon] – Immersion Walk: Dive deeper into the lush vegetation with a specialized one-hour jungle walk, seeking out hidden species before spending another peaceful night at the Lodge.

Day 05: Soga de Oro Lodge – Atalaya Port – Cusco
- [Very Early Morning] – Downstream Macaw Spotting: On our final day, we depart very early, sailing downstream for 20 minutes. Marvel at the sight of green parrots, blue-headed parrots, floury parrots, and the majestic chestnut-fronted macaw in flight.
- [Morning] – Breakfast & Lodge Departure: Return to the lodge to share a hearty breakfast and pack your belongings, taking in your final moments of the Amazon’s tranquil atmosphere.
- [Mid-Day to Afternoon] – Return Journey to Cusco: Our boat will take you safely back to the port of Atalaya. From there, board our waiting bus for a comfortable and scenic ride back up to the city of Cusco, concluding an unforgettable expedition.
