Itinerary

Day 01: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Bamboo Lodge

  • [Early Morning] – Journey to Paucartambo & Ninamarca: We depart Cusco early in our comfortable bus, traveling toward the folkloric village of Paucartambo. Along the way, uncover ancient history as we explore the fascinating pre-Inca funerary towers of Ninamarca.
  • [Mid-Day] – Exploring the Cloud Forest: Descend into a mystical cloud forest adorned with beautiful orchids and vibrant flora. Feel the thrill of spotting Peru’s national bird, the brilliant Cock of the Rock, playful monkeys, and potentially the elusive spectacled bear.
  • [Afternoon] – Arrival at Bamboo Lodge: Reach Pilcopata and settle into our cozy lodge. Here, you can refresh in your private bathroom with showers, relaxing to the captivating sounds of the surrounding rainforest.

Day 02: Pilcopata – Atalaya Port – Soga de Oro Lodge

  • [Morning] – Journey to Atalaya Port: After enjoying a delicious breakfast, our private bus will transfer you to the vibrant outpost of Atalaya.
  • [Late Morning] – River Navigation: Feel the warm Amazonian breeze as we sail for 30 minutes along the Alto Madre de Dios river. Keep your camera ready to photograph elegant herons, the magnificent king vulture, and massive Capybaras roaming the riverbanks.
  • [Afternoon] – Deep Jungle Excursion: Step off the boat and immerse yourself entirely in nature. You will explore ancestral trails surrounded by living nature during a 3-hour guided hike through the dense jungle undergrowth.
  • [Nightfall] – Soga de Oro Lodge & Night Walk: Arrive at our welcoming lodge to shower and rest. For the most adventurous souls, we offer the thrilling option of a night walk, discovering the hidden nocturnal wonders of the rainforest.

Day 03: Soga de Oro Lodge – Collpa of Parrots – Lake Machuhuasi

  • [Early Morning] – Parrot Clay Lick Navigation: Wake up to the sounds of the wild and sail by boat for approximately 25 minutes. Witness a spectacular natural show as a vibrant variety of parrots gather to eat clay, a vital part of their morning ritual.
  • [Mid-Morning] – Native Rafting at Machuhuasi Lake: Return to the serene waters of Machuhuasi Lake. Step aboard traditional native rafts to navigate the lake for about 2 hours, allowing you to peacefully observe exotic aquatic species and wildlife hiding in the canopy.
  • [Afternoon] – Wildlife Walks: Enjoy guided walks around the lodge’s perimeter. This is the perfect time to slow down, breathe in the pure jungle air, and search for other unique species that call this sanctuary home.

Day 04: Soga de Oro Lodge – Atalaya Port – Cusco

  • [Morning] – Return Journey: Savor your final jungle breakfast before we head back to the port of Atalaya. Take a last look at this beautiful village as we board our waiting bus.
  • [Mid-Day to Afternoon] – Scenic Drive to Cusco: Sit back and relax as we leave the Amazon basin, ascending safely and comfortably back through the stunning landscapes to drop you off in Cusco, bringing your adventure to a close.
