Itinerary
Day 01: Cusco – Capuliyoc – Playa Rosalina
Descent into the depths of the canyon.
05:30 AM – The Adventure Begins: We leave Cusco early in the morning by private transport. After a 2-hour drive, we reach the town of Curahuasi, where you can order breakfast (not included) to fuel up for the day.
Arrival at Capuliyoc: We continue for 2 more hours to Capuliyoc (3,200 masl / 10,498 ft). This is the trailhead where we meet our horsemen and horses. Prepare your camera for the first breathtaking views of the Apurimac Valley and the snow-capped Padrayoc peak.
Descent to the River: We descend through the eastern slopes of the Andes, reaching Coca Masana (2,330 masl). You will feel the temperature rise as the flora changes. We continue downhill for two hours to Chiquiska (1,750 masl).
Camping by the River: Finally, we arrive at Playa Rosalina (1,550 masl / 5,085 ft). We set up camp beside the raging Apurimac River, falling asleep to the sound of the water.

Day 02: Santa Rosa – Marampata – Choquequirao
The great ascent to the Cradle of Gold.
The Climb: We wake up very early for breakfast and begin the ascent. We hike up to Marampata, a small settlement with incredible views.
Arrival at Choquequirao: After midday, we reach the archaeological site of Choquequirao. You will begin to explore this majestic vestige, admiring the intelligence of the Inca architects who built a city on a mountain spur.
Flight of the Condor: Around 3:00 PM, keep your eyes on the sky. This is the prime time to witness the flight of the Andean condors as they soar to higher zones.
Camping near the Ruins: We head to the Choquequirao campsite for dinner and spend the night close to the history.
KEY DATA – DAY 2
- Destino: Choquequirao Complex.
- Activity: Steep uphill hike & exploration.

Day 03: Choquequirao All Day
Full immersion in the lost city.
Exploring the Unknown: This day is the highlight of the Choquequirao Trek 5 Days and 4 Nights. We dedicate the entire day to enjoying the magic and splendor of the site.
Guided Tour of 8 Sectors: We will visit barns, houses, temples, and the famous agricultural terraces. You will see the three levels of excavated ruins and even unexplored areas covered in vegetation, giving you a sense of discovery that you cannot find in Machu Picchu.
Afternoon Tranquility: In the afternoon, we have another opportunity to spot condors flying close by. We return to our campsite for lunch, followed by a restful afternoon enjoying the absolute quietness of Choquequirao.

Day 04: Choquequirao – Santa Rosa – Chiquiska
Farewell to the citadel and return to the canyon.
Descent to Santa Rosa: After breakfast, we begin our descent. As we go down towards Santa Rosa, the vegetation becomes abundant, and the weather gets hotter.
Camping in the Valley: We continue hiking until we reach the sector of Chiquiska. Here, we will set up camp for our final night in the canyon, surrounded by nature.
KEY DATA – DAY 4
- Activity: Downhill trekking.
- Camp: Chiquiska.
- Climate: Warm.

Day 05: Chiquiska – Cachora – Cusco
The final challenge and return home.
The Last Ascent: Early in the morning, after breakfast, we tackle the final climb. It takes approximately 4 hours to reach the Mirador Capuliyoq.
Scenic Finish: From the viewpoint, we take one last look at the majestic Padrayoc snow-capped mountain decorating the Apurimac Canyon. We walk one more hour to the village of Cachora.
Return to Cusco: Our private transport will be waiting to take us back to the city. We will arrive in Cusco between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, completing an epic journey.

- End of Service: Hotel in Cusco.
