Itinerary
Day 01: Cusco – Capuliyoc – Playa Rosalina – Santa Rosa
Descent into the Apurimac Canyon and the first ascent.
05:30 AM – The Adventure Begins: We leave Cusco early in the morning by private transport. After a 2-hour drive, we reach the town of Curahuasi, where you can order breakfast (not included) to fuel up for the day.
Arrival at Capuliyoc: We continue for 2 more hours to Capuliyoc (3,200 masl / 10,498 ft). This is the trailhead where we meet our horsemen and horses. Prepare your camera for the first breathtaking views of the Apurimac Valley and the snow-capped Padrayoc peak.
Descent to the River: We begin our descent through the eastern slopes of the Andes. You will notice the temperature rising as the flora changes from high-altitude vegetation to dry forest. We pass Coca Masana and continue downhill to Chiquiska (1,750 masl).
Crossing the Apurimac: We hike down to Playa Rosalina (1,550 masl) for a delicious lunch by the river. Afterwards, we cross the Apurimac River and begin the uphill hike to our first campsite at Santa Rosa (1,800 masl).

Day 02: Santa Rosa – Choquequirao – Marampata
Conquering the Citadel and watching the Condors.
The Great Ascent: We wake up very early for breakfast and begin the steep climb towards Marampata. From here, the path smooths out as we approach the archaeological complex.
Exploring Choquequirao: We arrive at the site around midday. You will have time to explore Choquequirao step by step, admiring the intelligence of the Inca architects who built this masterpiece on a mountain ridge. It is a glorious journey back in time.
Flight of the Condor: Around 3:00 PM, keep your eyes on the sky. This is the best time to observe the majestic Andean condors flying from the canyon to higher zones.
Camping in Marampata: After exploring, we head to the Marampata campsite for dinner and a well-deserved rest under the stars.
KEY DATA – DAY 2
- Distance Traveled: 9 km (5.5 miles).
- Walking Time: 8 to 9 hours.
- Highlight: Guided tour of Choquequirao & Condors.

Day 03: Marampata – Playa Rosalina – Chiquiska – Cocamasana
The return journey through the canyon.
Descent to the River: After breakfast, we bid farewell to the citadel and begin our return. We descend along the same path, passing Santa Rosa, until we reach the beaches of the Apurimac River at Playa Rosalina.
Climb to Chiquiska: We arrive at Chiquiska for a revitalizing lunch. The heat of the canyon accompanies us as we continue our journey.
Final Ascent: After lunch, we tackle the uphill hike to reach Cocamasana, where we will spend our last night camping with panoramic views of the valley.

- Walking Time: 9 hours.
- Camp Altitude: Cocamasana.

Day 04: Cocamasana – Capuliyoc – Cusco
Farewell to the Apus and return to civilization.
The Last Push: Early in the morning, after breakfast, we climb for about 3 hours to reach the Mirador Capuliyoq.
Scenic Lunch: Here, we take a final look at the majestic Apurimac Canyon and the Padrayoc snow-capped mountain decorating the landscape. We will enjoy our last lunch together at the lookout.
Return to Cusco: Our private transport will be waiting to take us back to the city. We will arrive in Cusco between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, ending this incredible adventure.

- Distance Traveled: 4 km (2.4 miles).
- Walking Time: 3 hours.
- End of Service: Hotel in Cusco.
