Rainbow Mountain Trek With Red Valley

The RAINBOW MOUNTAIN AND THE RED VALLEY, the minerals and the special color of the soil of this place, create these beautiful mountains. It is located in the Cordillera del Vilcabamba southeast of Cusco at 5020 meters above sea level 'Vinicunca' (The Rainbow Mountain), adorned by beautiful high Andean landscapes and snowy and glacial peaks, in its thaws make appear beautiful lagoons, lakes, beautiful valleys, all this along with the local people who are mainly breeders of Alpacas and Llamas.

CONSIDERATIONS

A challenging day, to complete this path, you must be reasonably fit and spend a few days in Cusco to acclimatize (we recommend 3 days). because this hike will take you to more than 4500 masl = 15,000 feet). One reason why this hike is difficult is because of the height. We will begin in a gradual ascent and then we will climb something steeper until we reach the top of the mountain. Check with your doctor to perform this high altitude hike or ask our agency about the option to rent a horse. Individual hiker and large groups are welcome, please ask.

From Cusco we will pick you up from your accommodation in between 05:40 am-06:30am. If your accomodation is located around the historic center of the city then we travel for the south of the city of Cusco, for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Until the district of Cusipata, where we will have a delicious breakfast and then continue our route until we reach the Colonial Bridge of Checacupe (3446 masl / 11306 feet), we will make a short visit where we will appreciate the three bridges that summarize an important part of the history of Peru: Inca Bridge, Colonial Bridge, Republican Bridge.

We will continue and we will arrive at the private property of Kayrahuire Alto (4450 masl / 14580 feet.) where we will get ready to start our short hike, it will take approximately 35 minutes to 50 minutes maximum form the trail head till to get the Rainbo Mountain (Tourists can rent a linear motorcycle or a horse); Along the hike we observe beautiful landscapes with many mountains covered with snow, local people with typical costumes of the area and llamas and alpaca breeders, in addition to the beautiful high-Andean landscape of the Vilcanota mountain range, then we will arrive to the Rainbow Mountain also called (Vinicunca or simply Arcoiris) one of the new and best attractions in Peru and Cusco, the second most important attraction in the city of Cusco. Upon reaching the top of the viewpoint (5020 masl / 16470 feet) we will have free time to take our pictures, videos and maybe make a Tiktok.

Also you can taste the drinks and food (coca tea, coffee,) offered by the locals. Then, with prior arrangement with team and with the tourist (physical condition), the visit to the Red Valley can be made this is an optional tour. The name is due to the special pigmentation of the earth that has a reddish color due to the abundant amount of mineral. This SHORT ROUTE that we offer will be more special because perhaps we will be one of the only groups on this route. After the visit to the Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley we will descend the same path, where our transport will be waiting to take us to enjoy a well-deserved and delicious lunch in Cusipata, After Lunch we will take our transportation to Back to Cusco (arrival between 6: 30 to 7:00 pm) we finished the tour and we dropp off you near to The Plaza de Armas.
