Huchuy Qosqo To Machu Picchu 3 Days

The Huchuy Qosqo trek to Machu Picchu is like to go through time, you can walk along ancient trails and visit local communities that still preserve their customs, This tour is very little known but is ideal for those who want another alternative to get to Machu Picchu. Starting with a pre-Inca site that sits on top of the mountains where you can see the entire sacred valley. An interesting mix of pre-Inca and Inca architecture.

DAY 01: CUSCO – TAMBOMACHAY – PUMAMARCA

Our tour begins with your pick up from your hotel at 06:00 am, heading to the archaeological site of Tambomachay; From here we will begin our walk through landscapes of Puna and over the Sicllaccasa pass (4020 masl / 13186 feet). In this step we will find archaeological remains and wild crops, such as tarwi, and a large number of cacti. Then we will continue to the Queullococha pass (4185 masl / 13727 feet), where we can see the snowy peaks of Veronica, Pitusiray and Chicon. On our way through Lake Queullococha we will see huallatas, ducks and small fish and then go up to the Challu Challu Pass (4220 masl / 13842 feet). We observe the plains of Chinchero and the lagoons of Piuray and Qoricocha, then we will ascend to the fourth step in Rumicruz (4230 masl / 13874 feet). Then we headed to the Inca rock quarry (4220 masl / 13842 feet), which is where the rocks were extracted to build Huchuy Qosqo. Finally we descend to the community of Pucamarca (4010 masl / 13153 feet), Here we will have dinner and camp overnight.

DAY 02: HUCHUY QOSQO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – STRAIN TO AGUAS CALIENTES

After having our breakfast; We will continue towards Huchuy Qosqo. We will descend downhill towards the Leon Punku ravine, here we will find remains of an Inca bridge and trail. This canyon has geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and rocks that direct the river to Huchuy Qosqo a (3600 masl / 11808 feet). Huchuy Qosqo is an Inca archaeological complex with imposing architecture that includes a large open ceremonial center with a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River. After the explanation we begin to descend about two hours to the next point (4200 masl / 13776 feet), going down about two hours until we reach Taucca, where we will stop for lunch, then we will travel in our private bus to the train station from Ollantaytambo to take the train to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night.

DAY 03: VISIT MACHU PICCHU FULL DAY – BACK TO CUSCO

After breakfast at your hotel; We start our excursion to Machu Picchu, with the early transfer to the bus stop for the short trip (25 minutes) to the citadel of Machu Picchu. where you will have a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses and more. After the tour, you will have free time to walk around the archeological site to your liking. Finally we will return in the afternoon by train to Ollantaytambo where the private bus will wait for you to take you to Cusco where our team will leave you at your hotel.
