Huacrapucara (in Quechua: Waqrapukara, from waqra, (horn) and pukara, (fortress); horn - shaped fortress) is an Inca archaeological site located in the peasant community of Huayqui, annex of Percca in the district of Acos, located in the province of Acomayo in the department of Cuzco. It is located near the Apurimac river at 4,300 m s. n. m. It was built by the Canchis and later conquered by the Incas. It was declared in July 2017 as Cultural Heritage of the Nation by the Ministry of Culture. The building would be an Inca sanctuary. The building is located on platforms, squares and a stone forest
We will pick you up from your accommodation or from the Main Square in Cusco around 5:00 am and then we head south to Chuquicahuana where we will take the route to Acomayo during this trip we will appreciate the Pomacanchi lagoon where we will have a short stop. Continuing with the tour we will arrive at Sangarara where we will have a breakfast, and then continue to the Rinconada community where we will start the trek to Huacrapucara. During this hike we will be able to appreciate a lot of flora and fauna typical of the area until we reach our destination Huacrapucara, where we will have a guided tour visiting the following places: Intipunku (Sun Gate), main square, towers, terraces, enclosure Wiracocha and cave paintings with representation of llamas. After visiting Huacrapucara we will return to Sangarara where we will have a lunch and after lunch we will take our transport to return to Cusco.
